The Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Recreation (DNR) has closed two resorts in the Chicago area for snow sport because of mold, according to the Illinois Department Of Natural Resources (IDNR).
The department said in a release Tuesday that it had been unable to obtain enough samples to determine the source of the mold.
It said the closures will result in a delay of the snow season.
The release says the DNR will work with resorts to determine which resort is in the best position to reopen.
The IDNR also said the closings affect snow sport and snow sports related events in Illinois and in nearby communities.
